Day Three of being Kilted at work

Today is the third day wearing the kilt at work. By this time everyone at work is used to it. Still getting the random double take in the lobby and on the commute, but overall the reaction has been pretty positive.

Today's the first day Adam (Landrysplace.com) had a chance to wear his to work.

So far that is two techies that have jumped on the Kilt band wagon. We'll see if the rising summer heat converts anyone else.

On an un-related note, i have teamed up with Dan Larson from Circle Comics and will be redoing the first comic of KvP and using his Artistic abilities moving forward. We are probably looking at a bi monthly release of the comic, but the quality bar should be raised by well over 300%

Look forward to next weeks rerun of KvP.

First Work Day in the Kilt

Today is the first full work day in the kilt.
So far things are going well.

I haven't had any wardrobe malfunctions or kilt checks.

I did find out that turning fast in a kilt is a no no.
So don't do that in public unless you want to show off whatever you got under that kilt ;)

I feel bad about sitting on my nice ironed pleats all day, but it is very cool in the office for me today :)

We'll see how the trip home goes.

First Pictures of the Kilt!!!!

I finally got my first kilt today!

I have to say its incredibly comfortable.
The guys over at Utilikilts.com definitely know how to make a kilt.

I'll give you all a sneak peak of tomorrows outfit.

Happy Fathers Day!!

Happy Fathers day to everyone!

Yes i know i have been really slacking on the cartoons the last week and a half.

The good news is that i have been coming up with a lot of great ideas for different strips, so now i just need to sit down and draw them all out. Hopefully i'll get a couple of weeks ahead this week and it wont be a problem any more.

Just wait for the next post! you'll be glad you did.

Kilt is on the premises, but its not kilt time yet

So according to the tracking info my Kilt arrived at the house!
Very exciting stuff, the time has almost come.

Now i just need to wait a few more days till fathers day to try it on.
It's my rule so i guess i have to play by it.
I'm a big fan of getting the gifts on the day (or close to the day if the family/friends gathering is earlier).
It makes it more worth the wait, builds suspense and excitement around the holiday if you don't open gifts early. It is especially true when you get a lot of gifts by mail. Its hard to make sure they all arrive on the day of the holiday, but it makes it more meaning full opening them all on the day, rather than one at a time as they trickle in the mail. Just my opinion though.

A Kilt Comic is worth a thousand words, but....

So if a Kilt Comic is worth a thousand words.
What if you can't read the 60 words in the Kilt Comic?
Is it then only worth 940 words? or is the Kilt Comic ruined due to the loss of understanding?

Dan over at Circle Comics helped me out so that we didn't have to answer that question. He took my comic and added a little bit of Comic book Photoshop magic and came out with an updated version of the first release comic. This one has digitized text so that it is much easier to read and follow.

Kiltman vs. Pantman : Episode 1 : A cozy peel : updated

I'll be following his lead going forward so that readability wont impact the quality of the comic.

Flying Kilt and KvP update

After more practice i was able to crank out the latest KvP episode. I feel like launching the comic at midnight on a friday is probably not the best timing for most. So i finished my drawings today and will be posting them tomorrow morning for all to enjoy.

My Kilt is somewhere between Redmond WA, and Central MA. I gotta ramp up the search for a belt otherwise i'll be wearing my kilt around my ankles ;)

Kiltman vs. Pantman : Episode 1 : "A cozy peel"

So drawing is starting to get better. Not great, but practice makes perfect. The right supplies definitely help the team.

For this Comic, if you don't know what a Banana Peelz is then you might want to check this site out first:

Kiltman vs. Pantman : Episode 1 : A cozy peel

Sorry for the sucky cut and paste merge of two bad scans. Apparently the new drawing paper is slightly bigger than the scanner i was using. I'll have to dig out the flat bed scanner for next weeks comic.

Site Updates

In order to promote commenting on the site I opened up commenting without having to register. Inorder to prevent spam bots from taking over the site i had to add a captcha in. If you register/login you don't get the captcha.

I'll also be working on fixing some of the colors on the site that can be hard to read depending on monitor brightness. The theme looks great at midnight in a dark room in case you were wondering ;)

Kilt and KvP Updates

Two updates for this week already :)

The kilt was ordered today from Utilikilts : Original in Khaki. Should arrive this week, but i might have to wait for fathers day to wear it since it is a fathers day present. We'll see how i do on that front ;)

I have to find a nice 2inch belt to go with the kilt now. The $50 dollar utilikilts belt looks nice, but is a little steep ontop of the already pricey kilt. If they throw one in for me on my order i wouldn't mind, but otherwise i gotta do some shopping around for a belt.

On the Kiltman vs. Pantman front i hope everyone enjoyed the second episode. A little more story and a little more drawing involved. Some of the cells are better then others, i ran out of eraser half way through. I'm definitely at an erase a lot stage in the drawing process.

Though this weeks should be a little more crisp and i won't have any excuses. Dan over at "Circle Comics : Stick-Man" gave me a few tips on art supplies. I ended up with a pack of drawing pencils, a little pencil sharpener, stencil pad and three different erasers.

Going to start drawing a little sooner than 2hrs before the deadline this week as well so it wont be so rushed.
