Sitting in the office at work on a warm day is tolerable in the morning. The AC unit does its best to cool the large office space. As the afternoon sun comes streaming through the large windows the AC just can't compete. It gets warm really quickly. Adding fans to the mix just stirs up the hot air, and causes a lot of "What'd you say"'s to try and carry on a conversation over the extra noise.
On top of the office temperature the fact that the train i ride is frequently packed and just as frequently overly warm doesn't help the team.
All of this adds up to a very warm/hot day. For someone that thinks 60 degrees is too warm, its uncomfortable. So where do we go from here?
The company policy where i work is no shorts. From my point of view its an understandable policy for a business environment and i'm not one to make a fuss about things like that. Though when spring comes and all the ladies get to dress up/down in their skirts and dresses, the guys have to sweat it out literally. This year i asked to be allowed to wear a formal kilt to work. We (the group of people researching unbifurcated clothing ;) ) have all heard a lot of negative stories about companies banning kilts, or people getting fired for wearing them etc,etc... Not my employer, they said go for it :)
So the Adventure begins .......
